Richard Paul Lohse - born Zurich 1902.

Trained to be an advertising artist, also paints expressive, late cunism still lifes.
1930's works as a graphic artists and book designer.

International Style - design aspects

The Swiss style was developed in Switzerland, Russia and Germany from 1920's and in the 1950's to 1960's became known as "International Style".

Its features include:

Sans serif fonts e.i. helvetica
Asymmetry
Clean, readability
The use of a grid system to create layout
Use of photography over illustrations
Limited colour, limited textures

International Style - Final

Darker more rich colours.. have not used simple black and whites, as typical of some designers in this style, and could potentially experiment with texture. The clean crisp colours, shapes, sans serif font and balance do however reflect the international style accordingly.
