The genre of music at the festival will be electronic influenced bands such as MGMT, Knife, CSS, Ratatat, Crystal Castles, Samian Mobile Disco etc. These bands are popular with a younger demographic from ages approx. 16-24. They international and national bands which draw crowds to melbourne clubs and hotel gig scenes such as Corner Hotel Richmond and Hi-Fi bar in the city.
These Bands are mainstream cult bands which have loyal fans but also attract outside listeners. They are predominantly played on JJJ radio as an alternative to mainstream pop stations.
The festival is to be called "Hypergasm" and may have other references and information to the sounds e.g "electrc/elctro", "festival/show" etc.
